General Buying Guidelines
The Materia Market community is built around people like you who are looking to purchase items for their next creative project. As a buyer in the community you hold a lot of responsibility because the sellers depend on your to engage with their listings and ultimately purchase their items. When interacting with the sellers in the community we ask that you treat them the way you would want to be treated: with respect, kindness, compassion, and professionalism.
How To Purchase Items
Listing Information
Items in the marketplace are listed by sellers who share the same interests that you do. They often post items that they no longer have a need for and are unique. While sellers always strive to be transparent and make their listings as clear as possible, you as a buyer are allowed to ask questions via the public Q&A section on a listing. This way you can inquire about details the seller may not have thought of or clarify specific details. When asking questions, keep in mind other users on the platform can see your questions and the answers from the seller. You are bound to the Materia Market's Community Guidelines and our Code of Conduct when interacting with others on the platform.
In order to successfully make a purchase in the marketplace, please consider reading all of the details of a listing. The Title, Price and Description should contain most of the information you need to make an informed decision, and it is also worth reading over any Q&As others users may already have asked.
Purchasing & Shipment
Once you have made the decision to purchase an item from a seller, follow the instructions in the App to complete the transaction. The seller will be notified right away when the transaction is approved and they will begin preparing the item for shipment. The seller has a few days to get the item ready and dropped off with the shipping carrier and you will be notified via email and or push notification when the item has been shipping as well as when it was delivered to your home.
Listing Approval
Perhaps the most important part of any transaction is for you the buyer to approve or reject the items once it has arrived. The app will notify you when the item was delivered and you have 3 days from the time it was delivered to approve the item and rate the seller. Once you receive the items, inspect it carefully and make sure it was accurately described by the seller and meets your expectations. If so then you can approve the item in the app and leave the seller with a good rating and positive feedback about your purchase experience.
However, if after inspecting the item you find it unsatisfactory or it does not meet the description of the listing from the seller you can also reject the item. Rejecting the item opens up a case and someone from Materia Market will reach out to you to coordinate any refunds and returns of the items as we see fit. At this point you will have the chance to rate the seller and provide them constructive feedback about your experience.
